Justin Carney is an Australian rugby league player with the Sydney Roosters. He plays in the centres or as a winger and has represented the New South Wales Schoolboys.[1] Carney scored two tries on debut in a 34–16 win over the Brisbane Broncos.[2] He has no relation to former Raiders' halfback, Todd Carney.
In round 17 of the 2009 NRL season against the Gold Coast Titans he suffered a fracture to both his tibia and fibula during a tackle.[3] He could not play for the rest of the year and missed the entirety of the 2010 season.
Carney was nominated for the 2009 Ken Stephen Medal, acknowledging his strong community work.[4]
He signed a 2-year deal with the Sydney Roosters.[5] His first game for the Roosters was against the Wests Tigers on April 3.
